Cheap and Cheerful


Right after Christmas, several of us have fat bellies and skinny wallets. That makes porridge a pretty good dinner alternative (especially since it's quick; quicker than ramen, actually). I make a version that includes raisins and linseeds, which is pretty yummy. It's also good for your digestion. I mean, seriously, do you want hemorrhoids? Hardly.

1 deciliter rolled oats (app 1/2 cup or whatever it says on the package)
2,5 deciliter vatten (app 1 cup of water or whatever it says on the package)
1-2 tbs linseeds
1 tbs raisins (preferably sultanas)
1 pinch salt
1 pinch cinnamon
1 pinch cardamom

Mix everything in a pot. Let simmer for about 2 minutes, or whatever it says on the packet.


Serve with milk and honey.

Yum!
